At Emmanuel we provide a very distinctive curriculum designed to develop you as a rounded and well-informed member of society. As a Sixth Form committed to providing education for students of all abilities, we offer two distinct pathways which ensure students have personalised programmes of study that best meet their individual needs:
Level 3 Pathway – offering a wide range of Level 3 qualifications including over 25 different GCE A Level courses and a range of Level 3 Applied A Level courses. In year 12 students will be ordinarily be expected to choose 3 subjects which they will study until the end of year 13. In some cases, students may be able to choose 4 subjects to study
Level 2 Pathway – offering a dedicated programme of Level 2 courses including options such as Business Studies, IT, Media and Music. Students will also be required to resit GCSE English and/or mathematics. All courses in the level 2 pathway last just 1 year and students are welcome to subsequently apply for our level 3 pathway providing they have met the entry criteria
For Level 3 Study (A Level and Applied A Level)
Students must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (or equivalent) including a grade 4 or above in mathematics and English. Some subjects will also carry course specific entry requirements, please ask individual subjects for details.
For Level 2 Study (GCSE 9-4)
Students must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9-2 (or equivalent) including a grade 3 or above in mathematics and English.
The final decision regarding entrance to Sixth Form and on to specific courses will rest with the Sixth Form team.
