Careers, Apprenticeships and Employability

Work Experience Schemes

Students are supported if they wish to apply for corporate work experience schemes during the academic year e.g. hospital work placements for aspiring medics or work placements at court for aspiring lawyers.

Work Shadowing Placements

Students studying Level 3 programmes are encouraged to arrange and complete a work shadowing placement at the beginning of July. All placements are registered with and verified by Safety Measures.

Drop Down Days – Employability Workshops (Young Professionals / Talk the Talk)

Students are released from their timetable to participate in one day workshops to develop their employability skills. ‘Talk the Talk’ equips students with the skills to become ‘confident communicators’ and ‘Young Professionals’ prepares them for employment through workshops facilitated by Experian, Roythornes Solicitors and BDO.

Careers Masterclasses

Our Masterclass Programme aims to provide students with an insight into specific careers. Sessions are facilitated by industry professionals and give students the opportunity to learn more about the job roles available. We also tap into the experiences of our previous students and invite them back to share their stories with our Sixth Formers.

Next Steps Programme (Level 2 Pathway)

A programme of workshops, college visits and one to one careers interviews which aim to increase student awareness about the range of opportunities available to them following the successful completion of our Level 2 programme. Students are provided with personalised support to maximise the success of their applications for further education, training or employment.
