Year 13 Personal Statement Workshop – Thursday 16 September 2021

Building on the work we started during our UCAS & careers drop down days in July this year, our current Y13 students attended a personal statement workshop facilitated by DANCOP to support them with their university applications. This workshop introduced students to what a personal statement is and why it is important, outlined the do’s and don’ts of writing a personal statement and gave students guidance on how it should be structure and what should be included. Students were then given the opportunity to begin writing their own statements and have their work checked by an experienced member of staff. This year more than ever before, the personal statement forms a crucial part of a student’s university application and participation in the workshop will help to ensure that our students can produce high-quality personal statements and increase their chances of receiving offers from competitive universities.
