Four members of staff and six Sixth Form students completed a 13,000ft skydive at Langar Airport to raise money for Ward E39 – the children’s cancer unit at the QMC – raising over £4,000.
After the jump, year 13 student Ilona said “It was the scariest, but most amazing and thrilling thing I have ever done. As I went up in the plane, I was so scared but the actual jump was not as bad as I thought and I really enjoyed it. I cannot describe the feeling of constantly falling, but it was amazing when I got to the ground”.
The Sixth Form team are hoping to repeat the event again this summer in a bid to raise even more funds to support the work of the doctors and nurses on Ward E39.
